Lauren has been competing in IGP for over 10 years now and has been involved with other dog sports close to 20. Her current training partner, Chewy, is an amazing representation of her breed. Chewy is very strong in her work and in any task she is trained to do. She loves to work! The relationship that Lauren and her have is evident when they step onto the trial field. They have competed together in several national events & trials and have earned multiple IGP3 titles together.

This is not a breed for everyone as they require a lot of attention, training and are highly intelligent.  Everyone who meets Chewy is always impressed and suddenly wants a Malinois, but most do not have the time to commit to the amount of training and activity this breed needs. Chewy is an amazing athlete, super social & stable on and off the field, but not all Malinois are like this so we do not recommend this breed to many. These are working dogs, normally used in the military and on police forces. They do not make good pets for most people. Although Chewy is very social and loves attention and cuddles, she would go insane without structured training and activity every day. These dogs LOVE to work, which is why they make fantastic military and police dogs. They could literally work and take down bad guys ALL DAY LONG!

In the world of canine choices, let me share, Why a Belgian Malinois, I may not declare.

Not for their beauty or loyalty's lack, But for reasons that I must not backtrack.

With eyes so keen and energy boundless, These dogs are like rockets, always relentless.

Their strength and drive, a force to behold, In a Malinois, adventure unfolds.

But for some, this vigor may prove too much, A life in the fast lane, a constant rush.

They crave mental challenges, tasks to explore, Without proper outlets, troubles may soar.

Training's a must, no shortcuts you'll find, For a Malinois's intellect is of a special kind.

Without stimulation, they'll seek their own way, Leading to mischief, day after day.

They're not for the faint-hearted or couch potato, These dogs require an owner quite so.

Active and social, with purpose they thrive, Neglect their needs, and they won't survive.

So think it through, before you decide, A Malinois as your canine guide.

If commitment and time you can't fully invest, Choose another breed, for they'll need your best.

In the right hands, they're a loyal friend, But without dedication, they may not blend.

So, consider your lifestyle, your daily routine, Before a Belgian Malinois, you convene.
